Nomadic Art Photography Project ( NAPP )
What is NAPP ? NAPP is a long-term project that photographs Nomadic cultures and documents this life style for future generations. It's a cultural, historic, sociological and artistic project. What is the purpose of NAPP ? It is a project to document nomadic people's cultures, lifestyles, and habitats for future generations and to educate those discovering this culture for the first time. The unstable global economy, industrialization, and climate changes are forcing the last nomads to alter their lifestyles and settle down. NAPP will artfully photograph these subjects for historians and social scientists. We all know that early life began with the nomadic tradition however few are aware it has continued into the present day. This will not only be an art piece but it will also serve as a documentary. It will be a project involving many other participants, including amateur and professional photographers. What does it mean to be a participant ? How does it work? It means I am encouraging other photographers to post their pictures featuring any nomads and their lifestyles. I will invite some photographers who have been photographing Native Americans, Australian Aborgines, or African Nomads to post their pictures at NAPP under their personal bios. Also any amateur, and professional photographers may contact me to post their pictures with a page created for them. Which nomads are eligible to be included in the project ? All of them, from all around the world. I will start by officially photographing Mongolian Nomads from the Gobi Desert in the summer of 2012 Then the project will extend to the North American Nomads in 2013. Summer 2014 will be highlighting Brazil and South America. How will NAPP be funded ? Most of it will be out of pocket. But, I am hoping for some donations from individuals and help from non-profit organizations, local authorities, and charity groups. All the picture prints, books, and cards sales will go directly to the funding of the project. We will organize workshops and photo tours at low fees to support and finance the Nomadic Art Photography Project. There are two easy ways you can donate: (“Nomadic Art Photography Project” is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization.Contributions for the purposes of NAPP must be made payable to Fractured Atlas and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.) 1- Secure donation with your credit card via Fractured Atlas: |
